Information about the 2008-2009 CCI computer models is now available on the CCI site. All new models feature several software and hardware upgrades.

These CCI models are the first to feature the Windows Vista operating system. To make connecting to the campus wireless network faster and easier, they incorporate 802.11N in addition to the 802.11A/B/G wireless protocols. In addition, they have additional memory, faster processors and larger hard drives. The desktop model is now more energy efficient.

While most models cost slightly more this year, the popular T series has actually decreased in price. Prices include a 3-year warranty by default, and customers can choose to upgrade to a 4-year warranty for an additional $50. This is the first year that CCI customers can choose to add Thinkpad protection from Lenovo to their laptop package, which covers accidental damage.

Orders for the new CCI models will be taken beginning April 28, and deliveries will begin the week of May 19. To use funds designated for this fiscal year, faculty and staff must place an order by May 15. To place an order, visit the CCI site and follow the navigation on the right.
